Love the summer events in Aotea Square. The bean bags, astroturf, stripey sun loungers - it's a great place to relax in the middle of the city, even when there's no event on (but here usually is, around lunchtime).

Loving the summer vibe, lounging in the sun on the giant pillows and chairs is a no-fuss and no-pay way to catch up with friends.

A really well put together arts venue to go see a show. Service was excellent throughout, clean and open spaces and the new cafe areas are great. A really nice place to see live acts.

Ready for something a bit sexy, a bit dark and a lot different? Take a walk on the wild side with Cantina, a burlesque circus hybrid that is designed to tantalise and disconcert. Staged in a 1920s Spiegeltent (a handsome mirrored marquee), this is a circus that conjures up Coney Island freak shows, speakeasies and the great depression of the 1930s. The seven performers are lewd and tattooed - and really very outrageously talented. Prepare yourself for a feast of debauchery, contortion, lewd glamour and black comedy. Part of the Auckland Arts Festival. Playing oldskool Snake with antique armchairs and lamps at Aotea Square. Cool! :D

‘Auckland’s #1 Band’ Sal Valentine and the BabyShakes are performing in Auckland’s Fringe Festival! Fronted by larger than life personality Sal Valentine, we’ll let him sum things up (he likes to do that), 'You won't end up not jiving to my band, kay? Drink to that, baby. The Babyshakes are the best damn rhythm and blues band you will ever hear in your life. Seriously.' -Sal Valentine Fri 15 Feb - Saturday 23rd Feb, 5:30pm – 7:00pm
