Would just go for the avocado sorbet!

Who could pass such a display and not be enticed? I’m putting Cocina on my must-drink-at list.

If jerk chicken, goat curry and escovitch fish are your thing then this is the place for you.  Whether you are looking for tapas style eating or a traditional main meal, Atico-Cocina can accomodate. Prices range from about 5-20 on the tapas and 20-40 on the mains.  Good friendly service and really yummy food!

A Caribbean inspired, tapas style menu has something for everyone. With a bistro feel, the flavours & dishes are a nice alternative to the mainstream restaurants flooding Aucklands market. The seared Tuna is amazing (warning… The photo on this rave will cause involuntary salivation!!). Try this place with some friends so you get a taste of everything. Keep an eye out on GrabOne as I’ve seen them pop up a few times. With a homely, rather than romantic feel, I’d give it a miss if you’re looking for a cosy corner for a first date - other than that I’d definitely recommend.

The waiter was great - not only very attentive but his recommendations were on the spot and refreshingly honest. We had an entree of empanadas, which were very yummy and the Tuna as main which we couldn't have chosen better. The fish was just right and everything very flavoursome. I thought 1 entree and 1 main was just enough for 2 people without feeling too full afterwards but if you're very hungry, you might want to order more.

My friends and i were hoping to get a spot at La Zeppa next door but were disappointed when it was too busy, we were pleasantly surprised to come across Atico just next door! This place is still a little undiscovered, which is how i like it. There were some people drinking on the deck but no on in the restaurant. The deck area is lovely, a nice size, good sun and a lovely vibe. Our waitress was lovely but clumsy. She accidentally spilt my wine but  replaced it with a full one. We were told it was happy hour and wines were only $5 (bonus!) so we had a few of these to then be told happy hour was only from Mon-Thurs, no Fri! But thankfully they honored the glasses we already had and didnt charge us extra. My friends really enjoyed the thick cut chips and aioli and i enjoyed the jerk chicken with guacamole which i thought was interesting.  I would like to come back here to test out more of the menu. Atico-Cocina, great potential!

We were taken to Atico by a client, and were thoroughly impressed.  We had a great table out on the deck under the sun umbrella, and the food and cocktails were divine.  We shared the tasting platter which was chocca block of tasty morsels, and the mojito's were the perfect accompaniment.  Will def be grabbing a group of friends and heading back for a summer arvo in the sun.

My sister and I recently bought a Dailydo voucher for this place, keen to try a new cuisine. My initial thoughts upon walking in were that the decor was slightly odd ansd mismatched to the location - but then we decided it was perhaps just that we weren't used to Caribbean style, it being a bit of a novelty in New Zealand. Service was fast and friendly, and we were brought water and then the bottle of wine that was included in the deal. We were happy to see this was a decent tipple - a bottle of Squawking Magpie sauvignon. The seafood platter was fantastic - especially the shellfish, which came in a delicious tomatoey sauce. The only real downer was the terrible top-50 style music. 'Best of middle-of-the-road 1990s' is not the most atmospheric of music to enjoy good food by.
