Local woman Kelly Coe started her clothing brand Augustine at the Mount and now has sister stores in Newmarket and Ponsonby. Her clothes are bright, original and fun - think lots of floral prints and sheer fabrics. She gets behind local events and people and hosts a great fashion show. The best thing about her clothing - it's designer style with an affordable price tag. There's plenty a summer dress to be had for around $150.
If you are a fan of Augustine check out their Mt Maunganui flagship store - one of only three dedicated stores in New Zealand. Although now Auckland-based, owner and designer Kelly Coe if from the Mount and that local playful sense of fun and free spirit still clearly shines in her clothes. These are beautiful, colourful garments with a distinct touch of individuality that make them feel very special. A refreshing fashion store with a price point of often under $200 per dress - although they are made in limited numbers and look like you've paid a whole lot more. Highly recommended.
