Banzai Restaurant

This is a fabulous local Japanese restaurant. The food is delicious and beautifully presented and the service is very friendly, efficient and quick. Decor is also very pleasant. But make sure you make a reservation - there aren’t many tables and it is very popular.

Atmosphere is great  for an intimate dinner or a gathering with a large group. I would definitely recommend trying the korokke as a vegetarian option- it's amazing. 

In amongst the myriad Chinese offerings on this restaurant-encrusted strip on Dominion Rd, Banzai sits back from the street and is a lovely oasis of friendly service and sublime sushi. The slabs of raw tuna and salmon in the sushi rolls are very generous, so for around $9-13 a roll it's good value. The other stirfry dishes on rice and soups I've tried have all ben good, but I mostly go for the sushi and sashimi.

Banzai is one of those places you go with a group of friends at the last minute, when you don't actually know where to go.  One of those places you have never heard of.  And then it becomes the place you suggest to other people, who don't know where to go for dinner.  It's a small place, but the food is amazing and the staff are super friendly.  Which is what counts, right?

A phrase that you are likely to hear several times when you dine at Banzai.  It really is a place where it's the service that makes the difference and I always feel that much better for going.  The food is very good too.

Ive been to Banzai a number of times, along with getting takeaways too and have not had a less than excellent experience yet. Dine in is best- as long as you can get a table as their premises is quite small. I highly recommend their Babe sushi. 

Banzai is the best discovery.  We regularly go for an early dinner when we visit our daughter as she lives just round the corner.  By going early we are assured of a table, it does get busy.  The food and service is exceptional and to a very high standard.  The staff will become your friends in no time.  You will be amazed at what good value it is.  Not a problem for us because we walk but the parking can be a struggle.

Went here one night by accident - what a find! Some traditional, some not so traditional options. A good range of entrees and mains too.
