Love this rugged, wild, raw west coast beach just out of Auckland. Bethells Beach is a beautiful spot for a Sunday walk in winter or summer. The waves also rip.

Love the cave when its low tide!

I love this beach. It’s wild and desolate and typifies a west coast beach. I enjoy the walk from the car park to the beach and always feel invigorated by a plunge in the rough and ready ocean. Not a great each for little ones but the estuary is fun for kinds to play in and much safer. If you’re here on a Friday night or over the weekend pop into the Bethells Caravan for a delicious vege or beef burger and a nice block. Anna and Jim who run this food truck are a lovely couple and the food is great.

Sand dunes are fun to muck around on... Take your surf board and catch some waves or take the kids to the calm cove for a splash...

Wild and rugged, not too packed.

Best beach in Auckland - not too packed, wild and beautiful.

A beautiful west coast beach in Auckland's Waitakere Ranges. They have some amazing and large sand dune areas which can feel like you're in the middle of a mini desert!

We love Bethells Beach, an unspoiled piece of paradise that I grew up in and now get to watch my children enjoy just as much as I did

I love taking visitors to Te Henga and stopping at lake Wainamu on the way. The lake is just as stunning - walking over the great sand dunes to find it between the green hills. Great for a swim too! And much more quiet water than the ocean... I also love the cafe at Te Henga beach!

Chilled out place to go any time of the year.
