About

Based right on the edge of Wellington's CBD, Bodega is Wellington's premier music venue and bar. Nationally renowned for international-class sound and big name acts, we cater to all customers from an after-work drink to a spectacular night out on the town! Operating under the same name for the past 22 years (that's older than some of our customers!) we provide the best in both live entertainment and drinks. Our beers and wines boast both international and locally sourced products, just like the musical range we have on offer up to six nights a week! Our two venues are suitable for almost any occasion: Bodega is one of the best live venues in Wellington for big-name acts and showcases of local talent sourced from all different genres. Downstairs in The Burgundy Room one can usually find DJs tearing up the decks, or private functions ranging from corporate occasions all the way through to massive birthday parties. Interested?

There’s a gig on most nights at Bodega – often up-and-coming local bands – but it also plays host to some of the biggest names on tour in New Zealand. The lighting and sound tends to be good; there’s a smoking area out back; and the bar staff are adept at handling the throngs.

A pretty bare bones, straightforward concert hall, this venue on Ghuznee St. may not be one to pop into on an off night, but it gets the job done well when your favorite band is in town. Friendly bar staff and an open plan with plenty of room to flail about make this a solid spot.

If you’re after excellent tunes and a great night of head-banging, Bodega’s your go-to. I reckon it’s a great place for rock acts. Chilled out, relaxed - and they take care of you with excellent service and staff who look out for you. Fun times to be had at Bodega for sure.

I may just be a crummy Aucklander but I know a good venue when I see one and Bodega is truely the grandfather of all Wellington's live music venues. Sure, Bodega is the kind of grandpa that tells dirty jokes and drinks too much beer, but the international artists keep flocking here and it's not hard to see why. Good music, beer, a respectable dance floor.

Vital sounds and great beer.
