I love these guys’ mantra for a healthy life: you are what you eat. I love the guilt-free feeling I get when I pay for a decent meal there - totally yummy and so nutritious. Their corn fritter stacks jam packed with salad on the side is a winner, as is their raw beetroot salad - so much antioxidant goodness = so much happiness.
I’m always absolutely starving after a run around the Taupo lakefront, and BodyFuel is usually my first stop for a refuel. Corn Fritters are hands down the best Sunday morning recovery food after a run and/or hangover. Served with some yummy homemade relish and salad greens, and washed down with a healthy apple and kale smoothie = winning!
The reason I love Body Fuel so much is because they make a divine chicken crispy noodle salad. It's great value for money and if chicken isn't your thing, there's a varied selection of salads (ranging from $10 to $20). Really it's all dependent on how hungry you are! Definitely my must-do salad lunch spot.
Their Venison Pie is to DIE for. The venison filling is absolutely amazing - beautiful, tender pieces of lamb, in a delicious gravy. And the pastry outer is perfect, melt-in-your-mouth pastry. The portion size is HUGE, so if you have a smallish appetite, you can easily halve one with your mate. It’s served with a fresh, green salad and some homemade chutney too.
AMAZING cafe, with some great favourites. Their corn fritter stacks remind you of your grandma’s corn fritter fry ups. Served with a generous dollop of sour cream and chutney, this one takes you back. Body Fuel is just around the corner from the lake front, in Taupo Town. If corn fritters aren’t your thing, ask for their venison pie - to DIE for.
