Bronco's Steak House - Awesome rustic/western feel, that offers quality meals at affordable prices. Bronco's is family friendly and is one of my fav places to eat when I am after 'good food on a tight budget'! #shoutme

My friend raved on and on about the food, especially the salmon salad. I just want to go there to find out for myself, because she really talked it up. I would also like to take my husband and children for dinner there with a couple of other people to celebrate our wedding in a bit more style them Wendys. Which is where we went for our wedding lunch. Nothing fancy, but, it's not about the fancy arrangements, it's about marriage. I would like to do something nice for my husband, he works hard, he tries, so I'd like to reward him and my children for trying to make this family as happy as it is.

Double choc fudge brownie. The best dessert made by broncos love love love it.

So came to this place for Mothers day lunch,  why?   why not just passing and in need of a hearty meal and previously we had got one.   Everyone else in the area however had decided to treat mum to a lunch here it seemed.  It was busy..  really busy as in every seat in the house including the outside deck and at some point a queue of people waiting for tables.   For some weird reason we seemed to skip that and got a seat immediately.  I think because we were 3 and everyone else brought more people and so we got a small table.    Once seated the menus are pretty standard steakhouse stuff - for lunch everything seems to be $16 mains wise so that keeps it simple.    We ordered some bread which came quickly and was tasty and massive like 3 loaves which was way to much.   We also ordered a couple of mains and some drinks,  I was actually pretty impressed that despite being packed they ran a very efficient ship and we were well served and the food came out the same amount of time you would imagine.   I guess this falls into the do something simple, do it well.   The meals were simple,  but hearty,  a slab of meat,  some veges or some salad or chips in relatively large supply.    No need to really go on about the food,  it was not Merediths,  but it was also $16 for a large plate full.    We didnt even contemplate dessert as we were stuffed and also there was such a line forming felt a little guilty for holding up a table.  So all an all a quick tasty, filling meal for pretty cheap price - you dont pack a place like that because you dont know what your doing and judging by some stuff on the walls its been there for like 20 years which leads to the conclusion they must be doing it right and I agree.

Huge choice, huge meals and pretty good service. Nice outdoor area on a sunny day and good vibe inside.  Almost feels like you're in America. Food looked good and was pretty good.  Not cheap but you certainly wouldn't leave hungry. Some things a bit mediocre like the baked potatoes were not brown & crunchy skins.. more soggy and soft but you got 2 huge ones and a large dish of butter and sour cream.  The salad was bland.. not sure if the 3 bottles they brought out earlier then took away were meant to be dressings for this or not.  Small things can take a good meal and make it average sadly. Would go back if starving and wanted a big meal in a hurry.  Certainly was a huge range to choose from.

Oh yes I love their sagawala so very much here... Hoping you'll stop in on the way past & buy our dinner takeaway.. :D

Service was pretty fast but meals came out too far apart. Mine was getting cold while I waited for my friends meal to come out. Otherwise was a decent size and cooked perfectly.

I have driven past Broncos several times and yesterday lunchtime finally gave in to the urge to investigate.  There's great parking outside and tables out in the sun on the deck or inside the American west styled interior. The staff were efficient and pleasant, even after we changed tables a couple of times. (Due to a cold wind).  They brought us two menus - one was a snack & lunch one, the other a main meal menu.  Certainly lots of eating choices here.  Everything from seafood, chicken ( 4-5 options) Mexican, and several steak options.  Almost everything except pizza.  (Plus a couple of blackboard specials). Certainly spoilt for choice. We ordered ( after quite a long deliberation) a king prawn starter and the deep fried camembert and two glasses of pinot noir.  These arrrived in good time,  were presented well and both were very, very tasty. For mains we had a carpet bag steak, (filled with oysters- which we asked to be cooked but wanted a blue/very rare steak), the bernaise sauce and asked if I could swap the fries for the baked potato with sour cream and still have salad instead of vegetables.  The waitress was very pleasant with all my demands and said it should be fine.  We also ordered the fajitas and she asked if we wanted mild, med or hot - we ordered hot.  The mains arrived and were huge.  No quibbling on quantity here.  The steak was cooked beautifully and was a nice piece of meat.  The salad was big but there was no dressing on it so was bland to the point of tasteless.  The potatoes were large (2) and came with a large dish of butter and sour cream.  Sadly the Bernaise sauce was not Bernaise tasting or looking (not even close.)  The Fajitas were really good.  Served on a sizzling hot plate with a huge plate of sides to make them up.  (They were not spicy hot though as ordered.. I would say quite mild).  Again a bit disappointed.  For dessert we had a slice of cheesecake (there were 8 very kiwi desserts to choose from).  It was pink and looked like it would be more at home at a girly birthday party.  It tasted fine. The service throughout was excellent.  The meals were huge and tasty enough to go back if in the neighbourhood as I like the lunch environment and due to this would take the kids.

Friendly steakhouse based in South Auckland.  There are a good selection of dishes on the menu, however most meals are in the $30+ bracket and the food is mediocre at best.  We chose the Scotch Steak, the Sirloin Steak and the Burrito.  All meals were delivered promptly (maybe a little too promptly) which left us to believe that the steaks were not left to sit - this is a no no, especially when both diners order a preference of medium rare, and that the burrito was not cooked to order. We probably wouldn't go back again, but if you are a quantity over quality diner then this is the place for you.

Old school style eater in South Auckland  with quite a large menu and traditional style meals,  ie pretty big, nothing flash.  The place is a little on the worn side and could do with a bit of a clean ,   the tables and chairs could do with replacing as they were like old church chairs which were a bit odd.   The place was pretty busy,  service was ok.  Food came pretty quickly and was tasty,  parking was easy at the door.   We were passing by and its served its purpose,  ie a hearty dinner -  pricing is a little high for the place in my opinion but meat places always are - there are vouchers in the entertainment book to break the damage.     Overall wouldnt go out of my way,  wouldnt rush back but then again nothing wrong with the place either.
