went there for our annual meeting, and it was absolutely good.

Spend a few hours out here with the Nephew. He loved all the butterflies landing on him he thought it was a hilarious.

We went to butterfly creek on a school trip with six special needs students in wheelchairs and two under two year olds in pushchairs. Not only did they give us a great discount but they were very accommodating on the train, making room for the wheelchairs and waiting for us to get ready. The whole complex is very wheelchair friendly, although self-propelled chairs might have difficulty around the farm area as it is gravel (power-chairs and pushed chairs had no problems however), the rest is  wooden decking or concrete with no steps or steep ramps. The exhibits are all first class, the butterflies are beautiful (be careful with dehydration with very vulnerable people as it is very hot in there), the crocodiles were exciting, and the rest of the exhibits were interesting too (the spiders weren't everyone's cup of tea, but the students loved them!).

Butterfly Creek was really fun - a really unique place to visit in Auckland. A little expensive but worth it every once in a while. The cafe was average - very busy and slow service, with some things on the menu sold out.

Butterfly Creek have now become the proud 'parents' to their first 'home birth' baby saltwater crocodiles. Complimenting this is the Butterfly Creek tropical butterfly house which houses over 750 tropical butterflies and birds, it a fun educational place to explore.  Most of Butterfly Creek is under cover so its great place to keep the kids happy if the weather is a bit suspect

What more could you want for a day out. An amazing place for adults and children with plenty to do and see, a playground for the kids and an excellent cafe/bar. You don't have to pay to go just to the cafe & playground. This is Butterfly Creek. We love this place. It has a train ride around the lake, pony rides, farm animals to feed & pat, and the Butterflies of course. A huge aviary where butterflies roam freely as you walk through, often landing on your head, arm or back much to the delight of your children.  Then theres the OMG... tarantulas. We have to go through this section quite fast, but not without looking first at the huge native wetas. In recent years they have continued to grow and expand to now have a whole new section with alligators and other exotic things. Fantastic family adventure, educational and fun. The cafe is licensed and does great meals and snacks also. I often take travellers here who need a transit break from the airport . They always love my choice.

really, it was all really great
