Additional Information
Been here a couple of times now with a group of kids as well as my Nephew. Its a great day out. I recommend to get the Super Combo as you get to go everywhere (except the train as thats extra - I personally think that they should include the train in on the pass as you are already paying a decent amount for what Butterfly Creek really is). But you get to feed the Animals in the farm. Hold the Rabbits and Guinea Pigs. Go through to the Butterfly House (wear light clothing) and then through to the Croc and bugs. There is also a big playground and cafe/courtyard out side which is great for your kids to play in and you to just chill out and relax and watch over them. I do recommend that you take your own food however as the food in the cafe is on the expensive side as well...but you can take a picnic lunch and eat out in the courtyard that is covered over. We spend a good few hours there and the kids loved it. Running around playing, Going into the butterfly house at least 2-3 times and also going into the farm area a couple of times. If you do have a whole day you can also try the rocket Ropes and Mini Golf that they have right next door too...great day out for all
There's a good range of things to do at Butterfly Creek to keep the family entertained. Top of the list for us was the Butterfly House. The Croc show was pretty interesting too. Some lovely aquariums and a farm visit were fun for our littlies. Bring your gumboots if the weather hasn't been great lately! And, lastly, a train which is a sweet wee ride for the younger members of the family.
I never knew that butterflies could be so much fun to learn about. I discovered so many new things about these wonderful and regal creatures and it brought a tear to mine eye. If I was a butterfly, I would fly away all over the world and meet other butterflies from all over. I also wonder why they are called butterfly since they do not taste like butter and do not look like flies. Weird.
Butterflies have always been magical but now they are accessible for your family at butterfly creek! Great environment to see them in, if only a little warm in the enclosure. Fantastic petting zoo as well. Kids can get up as close as they want to. Well set out, very enjoyable. Playground for the kids is excellent as well.
