Cosy restaurant with fairy lights! We were greeted with smiles and attentive staff. I've heard good things about this place, and no doubt I was not disappointed! They have lots of varieties of spring rolls and summer rolls (delicious!) and you must try their Bang Bang Prawns (crispy on the outside but still maintained the juiciness of the prawns). There were many choices for mains, so I'm sure there is something for everyone! They also offer small size pho which is perfect for someone like me who always finds the need to order a PHO but now can order another main with it :p My favourite was their unique dessert list, serving durian ice cream (really good for durian lovers out there) and sago dessert.
I adore the food here and have been giving them my custom since day one. I was pretty disturbed the other night though, when I rang at 6.30 on a Saturday night to order takeaways, to be told "No we're too busy." Not "I'm sorry, we're quite busy there will be a wait." Just flat out, "No, we won't make you any food." I figured out early on that the Kiwi gentleman who runs front of house is quite new at hospo, and he tries his best and is friendly. The food is so good it doesn't matter if he seems a bit overwrought at times, and is of course the reason they get so busy. But anyone with ANY experience at all knows you don't say no to a customer like that. It won't deter me completely from going there (perhaps only Tuesdays and Wednesdays), but it should be recognised that this is not correct behaviour for a restaurateur. Rant over :) Try the grilled fish in banana leaf.
This is my new favourite lunch destination. Everything I’ve had from here is fantastic – the pork hot pot in particular is indescribably delicious. The fried squid was cooked perfectly and comes with a fantastic lemon sauce, and all varieties of spring rolls are worth a try. Plus, the owner is knowledgeable and helpful and the service in general is very good.
