Food, ambience and service

Now, I'm a sucker for Italian food and more realistically food in general.  But if you are looking for some great Italian food in a quaint restaurant then I recommend Casa Tua.  Their desserts are also to die for!

With a pizza station and oven at the entrance, the place feels warm and tonight, bustling with people. The decour is simple and modern, softly lit lighting with dark wooden tables and chairs, with a semi-open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work. The waitress led us to our table, poured us some ice water and gave us the menu. I got a bottle of Menabrea blonde lager, apparently one of Italy's oldest brand beer (since 1846), and placed our order. The antipasto plate arrived, stacked full with toasted bread on lightly dressed salad greens, roasted capsicums, artichoke hearts, risotto stuffed vine leaves, chorizo and salami slices, katamala olives, and roasted eggplants. Packed full of flavour and the classic start to an Italian meal, simple and tasty. We decided against ordering a pizza as it'd be a tad cliche, instead going for their carne (meat) and pasta offerings. Being a busy night, it took a while for our mains to arrive, which worked out nicely for our stomach to digest the starter. 15 minutes later 2 beautiful plates were placed in front of us. I ordered the Pollo alla Capri: chicken breast stuffed with basil, spinach and mozzarella wrapped in bacon and sat atop a bed of mushroom risotto. The chicken is cooked to perfection, tender and moist thoughout the thick breast meat, and the riostto very creamy, definately flows and "relaxed" on the plate, acting almost like a thick sauce for the dish. It could use a tiny bit more salt but everything worked nicely together with very delicate flavour from the risotto. Sitting next to me was the Gnocchi al' Ragu, my friend commented how the beef in the ragu is so tender that it melts in your mouth, the tomato based sauce complimenting the soft, pillow like potato dumplings. Every dish here seems to be cooked with real Italian passion, I noticed that the Pork Belly was quite popular tonight and looked amazing, sitting atop the dish with a crispy skin, and many plates of steamed mussels (Impepata di Cozze) being served around the dining room. Everyone must have enjoyed their choices as I see mostly empty plates being cleared, with 2 of them from my very own table. Service was also top notch, with the waitress clearing our plates soon after they're empty, and checking in on us after each course was served and asking how they were. We shared a home made cheesecake to finish our night with, and looked stunning. Mixed berry cheesecake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and strawberry sauce drizzled over, it really light and delicate in flavour, chucks of blueberries and white chocolate shavings, and a crumbly biscuit base. An extremely satisfying night out with good honest Italian cooking, a really surprising find in an otherwise quiet residential suburb. Might just have to come back again to sample their other dishes on offer here.

Casa Tua is a bit confusing - if you aren't that familiar with Farm Cove, you'll want to know that this is in a little group of shops marked from the roadside with just "Restaurant" on the plinth. You have to walk in past a dairy and hairdresser etc to find the doorway itself.

Not the cheapest but the food was great and service was exceptional have had such great service in a long time from a blonde waitress lovely girl. extremely polite and organised she asked if we wanted the kids meals first without us having to say anything just fantastic

Got takeaway pizza from Casa Tua. The restaurant was packed and the staff I dealt with were friendly. Pizza was delicious although I was gutted they didn’t have the Inferno chilli pizza. Will dine in for sure.
