Cool pub, cheap beers !

This iconic Ponsonby watering hole attracts all sorts of characters from the in-crowd to its many misfits. So if you're keen for an ice cold Heineken with the game, as well as heaps of atmosphere and some interesting encounters with the locals then Chapel's the place to be. Pop down, grab a bite to eat and settle in for the biggest Wednesday in sport ever!

This is an awesome place to come on Friday and Saturdays because it is super packed, also in the summer time you will find that there are, in true Kiwi fashion, many Sunday sessions had here and it is possibly even busier on this day than any other of the week. There’s always live DJs here, often from George FM, so if you’re into that chilled housey vibe this is the place to come. Great fancy little place to come and hang with your snobby Ponsonby friends or to bring others that don’t come around the area much to pretend you are upper class and sophisticated.

Great place to go mid week and enjoy from a large selection of wines, they also do great food not to over the top. Last time my we went we enjoyed a very yummy cheese board with a glass of red. Always friendly service too!

One of Ponsonby's long-time favorites, Chapel is a great place to hang out for a few drinks with friends on a Friday night. There's a small outdoor area at the back, but many people just seem to spill out of the front door onto the pavement as well. Try out the toilet at the top for a different experience!

Really cool on a Sunday, dj playing live music awesome

Perfect spot to kick off a Friday evening. Great bar with a good mix of clientelle.

Love the sunday sessions while chilling out with a cool beverage or two and mates listening to some cool tunes

There is something wildly romantic about ye olde vinyl records. Collections of yesteryear that you leaf through at the record store, memories of time gone by, seeing the mechanics of the needle tracking around the grooves... So romantic!
