Nothing beats sitting under the olive trees at Clearview Estate on a hot summer’s day being gently fanned by a cooling sea breeze and sipping on one of Tim Turvey’s fantastic hand-harvested and bunch-pressed award-winning wines and dining outside. There’s a full range of wines and the Reserve Chardonnay has got to be the best around. Finish off with a sticky dessert wine or the plummy Sea Red to be enjoyed with the rich Black Forest affogato or the cheeseboard.

The Clearview Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2013 is creamy, buttery, nutty and loaded with tastes of Hawke’s Bay stone fruit. It’s a golden drop straight from heaven from the top award-winning coastal vineyard and fashioned from the fruit of some of the original vines planted 27 years ago and a true reflection of the stunning 2013 Hawke’s Bay vintage.

Stretch out the day and unwind under the vines on Sunday November 9, at Clearview: The Winemaker’s Long Table Lunch. Dine on a specially prepared four-course menu inspired by fresh local produce matched with selected Clearview wines. For more information visit www.fawc.co.nz.

Located on the road to Cape Kidnappers and the gannet sanctuary this award-winning winery does amazing lunches ready to be matched with the wineries award-winning red and white wines. If you don’t want to drive out, get on your bike and take the scenic Hawke’s Bay Landscapes Ride cycle trail out to Clifton. Dining in comfort under the vines can’t get much better and what a way to savour a long lunch. Try the Clearview Reserve Chardonnay – one of the best.
