Browse vintage records, drink good beer and eat Brazilian street food at this Ponsonby Road icon (which is probably the only place in the world where you can do all three of these things).

Possibly one of ponsonbys best kept secrets, a very basic facade does no justice to what opens into a private courtyard that drips ambiance. The music is always good and the coffee is some of the best around. The perfect place for catching up with friends or to take a date for dessert.

Conch is my new favourite spot on Ponsonby road with a decent list of craft beer on tap, an interesting selection of old school records and delicious Brazilian food on the menu. I went here for the first time on a quiet, rainy Monday night during a bit of a cold snap, and me and my friends sat out back in the rustic little courtyard with one of their many heaters keeping our cheeks rosy and warm (along with the beers). The service was excellent and the old fella at the bar was up for a bit of a yarn - he seems to know his beer quite well also. The food was next level with my personal favourite being the elote - a Mexican street food classic, sweet corn rolled in chipotle mayo and parmesan. For beer I had a Hallertau Minimus Breakfast pale ale which is a tasty low alcohol option from a the lads at Hallertau in the Coatesville/Riverhead area. Like I said though the beer list is pretty extensive so there will be something to tickle your fancy no matter what you're into. The design of the place is awesome to, heaps of rustic timber, and colourful murals. Go check it out!

Oh one of my favourite hideaway spots, away from the noise of the street. Eating here is like going on a wee holiday. Love the fresh tasty food, friendly service and of course the tunes #shoutme

I love being able to browse through conchs record and CD collections while having a good espresso. The staff are interesting and lade back.

Conch have a great selection of Brazilian music with Kiwi collaborators. Their menus is also South American themed too. And they’ve been screening World Cup Football too! Count me in for the next Brazil game!

Called into Conch in the weekend for the first time in a while and was surprised to find it is now a full restaurant with attentive table service. Stylish funky fit out. The chefs are from Chile which explains the interesting South American style food.

This crew are so good at keeping it fresh and interesting with their music collections, as well as making a kick **** flat white and a menu to write home about. Be sure to ask the in store DJ what he’s playing, and maybe even kick back with a brew or vino!

Great service

A recent addition to our list, Conch boasts delicious Latin American styled food, great ambience and a creative drinks list, including hand-pressed sugar cane mojitos.
