I love this hotel and its old world glamour. On arrival the door man is charming. Everybody we met there was polite and lovely to deal with and made you feel special. The bedrooms are quiet and luxurious and once you get used to it, the ‘turn down service’ is rather nice. The buffet in the morning is divine. Make sure you go there hungry as there is so much choice.
The Tiffin Afternoon Tea service at the Langham Hotel is easily the poshest High Tea spot in town, and during the month of April, they're holding a special Taste of Britain High Tea service to commemorate the Royal Visit. British-inspired temptations include roast beef with horseradish cream on Yorkshire pudding, Earl Grey-cured salmon, and scones with clotted cream!
This is another 5 star hotel for those of you who can afford to splash some pennies about. The Langham is where many celebrities visiting New Zealand tend to stay and the likes of Justin Bieber and One Direction have temporarily resided here. If that does not sway your decision in a positive way then all you need to see is some photographic evidence of the aesthetics of this place. It is extremely high class and definitely on the more expensive side of things. The hotel also hosts the well-known restaurant Eight which is a seafood lovers dream. The public are also welcome to have high-tea here which all makes for an extremely classy outing. Best put on your best fake British accent to fit in here!
The classic décor, outstanding service and divine facilities transport you to a realm of old world luxury and with so much to taste and do, you don’t even need to leave the hotel. After a morning spent relaxing by the pool or being preened and pampered at Chuan Spa, the Tiffin Afternoon High Tea is the perfect way to spend an afternoon of gossip and giggles with the girls. Dinner at Eight restaurant will delight with a variety of tasty cuisine to tempt every tastebud!
