Being a Westie, I think that Westie service is surperb! Not that I'm bias - I live in Avondale now so am practically city -folk but you can take the Broad out of Westiville but you can't take the Westie out of the Broad. Anyway, my parents live in Tat South and when I go to visit them I pop into the supermarket on the way (two birds with one stone, and if they need somethihg I can pick it up). The new layout is great, much easier to find things although a bit of a trial during the make-over. Staff are always friendly and helpful ... Sally is our particular favourite (thanks Sally!). There's never a rush even if the queue is fuming behind you. Food selection is fine, not superlative but adequate. Store iswell laid out and it's very chilly by the fridges. All good to go.
Years of shopping in my favorite food store means I have used my card to get many bargains, and saved so many dollars when buying the 'necessities of life'.... and I imagine we could have wallpapered our house with all the dockets over all these years... many times over!! We really love our new store, and it is so light, and bright, and wonderfully laid out... and in fact... it's just a pleasure to shop in!
The Te Atatu Peninsula Countdown is looking flash after its revamp. You enter past a lovely selection of plants and flowers and then a fruit and vege section. These are (of course) over priced- but so are most fruit and veges in NZ! The selection of the supermarket is good, it is well designed and I can personally vouch for the very friendly staff. They have been great on multiple occasions. Has what you need- good food and friendly service!
Big, bright and full of great stuff. Used to be a New World and has maintained its market niche as slightly classier than the rest but now without the New World prices. Recommended. supermarkets out west aren't licenced for booze of course but this one has a Local Liquor just around the back. No need to move the car.
