Tattletale Saints have just returned from Nashville, Tennessee where they recorded their debut album, 'How Red Is the Blood'. Now based in New Zealand, Cy Winstanley and Vanessa McGowan were formerly part of acclaimed London based group Her Make Believe Band. The duo present Cy’s songs in their rawest form, with just acoustic guitar, double bass and voices described as “love letters between Amy Mann and a slip-sliding Paul Simon”. If you haven't been to "The Bunker" yet, you're missing out!  Firstly, it's a historic war bunker on Mt. Victoria - a striking concrete fixture on a scenic hilltop. It also is the longest running and most spectacular folk club in New Zealand. WHEN Tuesday 9/4/2013 COST $20 Bookings essential from Eventfinder.co.nz

It's hard to truly acknowledge everything good about this place in the space of a small Love. Firstly, it's a historic war bunker on MT Victoria for a start. An important piece of Auckland's history. Secondly, it hosts the longest running and most spectacular folk club in New Zealand. Every banjo player, piper or acapella singer worth his salt has come out of hiding at some point to grace the world with his music. No amps, no mikes, just pure unadulterated music. My mum went to the bunker in the 70s so it was an emotional thing for me to go up with her. Lots of grey-haired individuals You have to go to the folk night on a Monday night to fully appreciate the atmosphere here. Owner, Roger Giles will play the jug and have you in stitches. The view from outside is phenomenal and I guarantee you will hear some if the most talented and freaking modest musicians you will ever come across. Such a special place.
