Nothing beats a good old horror film on the big screen, in a big dark room with your friend sitting next to you screaming at every little sudden movement. When you are looking for a bit of an addrenline rush and you think you can handle of few nights of scary dreams, I’d grab a group of friends and head to the cinemas. Oooooh and on the way home a drive around some abandoned houses is always good.

One of the most handiest movie theatres there are which are close to us that has free parking. Also great to have it inside a shopping mall!

Another fantastic movie theatre in the Event Cinema chain. At least here you know you're going to a clean, up to date theatre with all the facilities you could want.

Situated in the shopping centre, there's lots of free parking available. It has a games room and bar to chill in pre or post movie.

I'm a film lover, so naturally it makes sense to spend time watching the latest films at St Lukes! And I can even go on a shopping spree afterwards ;)

:)

I went to see the Hunt (a Danish film about a man who is wrongfully accused of being a pedophile) in the weekend at the Capitol cinema on Dominion Road. The cinema is beautiful but the movie was dark and haunting. The movie left me feeling a little icky so I headed along to the Event Cinemas in St Lukes for a slightly lighter experience. This time we opted for Baz Luhrmann's 'The Great Gatsby' which was a style over substance, fun adaptation of the book. The cinema was hooching due to it being deal night ($11 for a ticket, $15 if it's in 3D) and the smell of buttery popcorn was in the air. The staff were all professional and the seats, which i guess are a big part of the movie, comfy. If you're not looking for a gourmet, art house experience and are happy to enjoy a big Hollywood blockbuster and slurp on a frozen Coke this is the place for you.

I recently went to St Lukes Event Cinema to see the re-run of the beautiful disney classic: Pocahontas!! It's things like this that makes me love Event :D
