Treat Dad this Father’s Day to a whole day out on the water doing what guys love to do - fish. Well, most guys anyway.
Had a great day out on the rivers around Taupo with Steve. Went to a couple of the smaller streams that I've always had trouble fishing in the past, and Steve was able to unlock their secrets for me. I caught good, hard fighting fish .... lost a few as well! Also learned how to "roll cast" which stood me in good stead later in the week on the Tongariro as I was able to fish some difficult to get to spots that others had walked past. Thoroughly recommend a day being guided by Steve, you'll learn lots of tricks even if you're already an experienced fly fisher. Chris.
I have fished all over the world from Europe to the US for the last 30 years and can honestly say that Fishy Steve is one of the most competent and friendly Guides I have ever met. I have know fished the Taupo and surrounding region for the last four years and have used Steve's services on 7 occasions now. Steve always delivers, even in very tough conditions he manages to make a great day of it. I have tried Heli and Raft fishing with Steve and they were 2 of the most exciting and fulfilling days fishing I have ever had. Both my Brother and Father have now also used Fishy Steve's guiding services, with similar experiences. As well as finding fish Steves intimate and in-depth knowledge of fishing styles and techniques has improved my abilities considerably.
