It's official! Fort Greene owner Liam has made culinary art out of the humble sandwich. Proudly known for creating "quality meals between two slices of bread" at the St Kevin's Arcade cafe he owns with wife Andrea, the clever local has been nominated for outstanding chef at this year's Lewisham Awards. From handmade bread to house-smoked kahawai locally sourced from Leigh Fisheries and turned into homemade fish fingers, Liam's fish sandwich (and everything else on the menu at Fort Greene) is what foodie memories are made of. Pretty cool too that his sandwiches are duking it out with the fine dinging talents of fellow nominees Ben Bayly at Baduzzi/The Grove, Des Harris at Clooney and Darren Johnson at Masu.

Vibrant couple Great coffee Food made with passion and precision EVERYTHING HOME MADE!

Awesome recommendation Gwyn.

The husband and wife duo that own Fort Greene in Auckland's K'Rd sure do know how to bake, how to cook and how to serve up some of the tastiest pastries, sandwiches and burgers in the business. And when it comes to Easter, Liam's clever craftiness in the kitchen doesn't disappoint with batches of delicious, fresh hot cross buns coming out of the oven every day. I love the glaze on these puppies - tasty as and a good reason to really love the season.

Hello sandwich love! I first met the passionate duo behind Fort Greene - Liam and Andrea - when they had their first pop-up at Ponsonby's Street Food Collective. So I was hooting when I found out that they'd moved into a permanent premise - a great little cafe in Auckland institution St Kevin's Arcade. Not only do I love the fact that their menu focuses on local, seasonal dishes created with ingredients Liam lovingly hand-creates from scratch (including their cured meats, breads and cheeses) but they are also produce some of the very best examples of Auckland's latest food obsession - sandwiches! And although the sandwich is the new burger... make sure you try their burgers too. They are good. So good.

After hearing how awesome this place was, I decided to have lunch there today - wow am I glad I did! I ordered the famous Fort Greene fish finger sandwich, it was delicious, so delicious I can't actually describe it to you in words, just believe me when I say that you need to try it. Fort Greene also serve Peoples Coffee, one of only a few Auckland coffee spots to stock this delicious Wellington creation. The food is great, the staff are friendly, Fort Greene I will be back soon.
