The cocktails are kind of expensive but heaps delicious and with a definite kick. It’s so cold it’s hard to stay for long but we had a great time playing ice air hockey, sitting on the various ice sculptures and smashing our ice glasses. It was a bit gimmicky but definitely worth going to at least once, and I want to have another go during the summer too.
We went back to the icre house on tuesday 2 weeks back. We went first on monday but did not know they had the last entry at 11pm, so missed out. Then went on tuesday with our overseas friends. We had a jolly good time. Many people think its just drinks but they also serve hot nibbles like wedges and chips. It was awesome fun we had. The staff too are very chirpy. Thumbs up for a great time.
Freddy’s Ice House is a place I always wanted to visit, when coming to auckland. The ice bar is such a great Idea, everything is hand carved from ice, hand carved sculptures and even the drinks are served ice glasses!! Everyone looks like an Eskimo with the provided warm coats :) so much fun and an amazing experience, one not to be missed!! Winter Wonderland !
It was an interesting place to visit. I just wish it was bigger. The staff were ok, one of them was very nice (the lady with blonde hair) and she was very friendly but the other one was very grumpy and made us to end the good time faster (she wasnt friendly). The other thing is they dont let us to take our camera inside, they take pictures themselves, the bad thing was as after paying about $8 for each pic they sent us VERY LOW quality pics which is a shame! (of course they printed a good quality pic over there for us, but I was expecting them to give us the digital high quality pics as well like any other places would do) So in my opinion what would make this place better are: 1) Friendly and nice staff 2) Better service like the pics that I talked about
Very cool place! I really liked all the things that they had made out of ice, we even had glasses made out of ice and we ate our glasses haha I juz wish this place was bigger. The service was ok. One of the ladies gave us very good service and she was very friendly whereas the other lady she was a bit grumpy and made us end the good time faster.
Interesting place to visit with a group of friends. Dressed to the hilt, bit like an eskimo, you step into the ice-cold world, and semi-darkness, of Ice House. One free drink, Russian Vodka with a shot of fruit juice, comes free with the experience. At the end you get to 'smash' your glass, which is made of ice of course, down a shoot. Sadly photography is not allowed..... Must go and see the amazing ice sculptures!
