Nice new bar with a nice new vibe. A great place to watch the rugby too, not to crowded, but enough to create atomosphere

    How can we not love Freeman and Grey…amazing decor and atmosphere; and $4 gourmet pizzas with $2 tacos? Unbeatable

      Chilled out bar by day, excellent wine and food in the evening, amping dancefloor at night!

        This bar has a nice courtyard and balcony which is great with a cold beer on a sunny day. The small plates/snacks are tasty and well priced and there are $6 wine and beer on Thursdays! Only downside is the music is not great (in my opinion!).

          Named after the two suburbs it borders - Grey Lynn and Freeman’s Bay - Freeman and Grey is a popular local for people who work nearby. They serve up a good pint and hearty tapas-style sharing plates, and in the summer months their upstairs deck is an awesome spot for sunset watching with a cold one. They also have regular specials and promos, so if you’re in the area pop in and say hi.

              Freeman and Grey is a relatively new kid on the Ponsonby Road block. I dropped into their Sunday session for a couple of beers and a pizza. The service was good, the beer cold and the food tasty. In the past when I’ve been there the music wasn’t great but today it was on point!

                We got a 100$ voucher to spend so we got to taste a few of the small plates in their menu. The salt n pepper squid was yummy and the Duck Pizza was delicious aswell!. Overall we loved the live band and the staff were uber friendly!
