Glenfield night markets happen every Sunday from 5:30pm, and run all year round. Housed in the covered lower level of the carpark of Westfield shopping centre in Glenfield, they're heaving with food stalls from every region of the world. From tacos, churros, kebabs and popcorn to fresh fruit ice-cream, baked bread, produce, curry, dumplings and more - the only problem with this place is deciding what to have!
Became quite excited when I first saw the signs for a night market in my area. It was quite a surprise how much fun I had. A great range of food places as well as gift/clothing/item stalls. Parking available on other levels of the mall and the ATMs are open on the grocery level to get cash out. Very busy- obviously very popular. Definite must see
I have heard so much about the Glenfiedl Markets that I finally decided to see what all the fuss is about. Unfortunately we picked the night when they decided to do a fire drill two minutes after the market opened! That was a necessary but annoying inconveiniance. They have a large amount of food stalls and such a large variety it made choosing something to eat that much harder. It was well set up and had tables to sit at which was nice. what little there was of other stalls was all to one side of the market and there was as mcuh variety as the food stalls. It had a couple of chidlrens entertainment. All in all the night market was a great place for a bite to eat especially if evryone wants something different.
We've been going to the Pakuranga Night Markets for some time now and love them. A while ago the Glenfield Night Markets were started by the same people and we have been meaning to check them out also. Well, we finally did and love them! There is a really great range of cheap food from lots of different ethnicities. Lots of the same stalls as Pakuranga, but also a lot of other different ones. We even managed to buy Japanese curry for $1, and it was really delicious! Highlights were probably the $1 curry; poffertjes (mini Dutch pancakes) with blueberries, custard and cream for $6; banoffee tart (which we're saving for tomorrow but have had at Pakuranga and know it's amazing); and empanadas which were being freshly made as we watched. We'll be back!
We made our way through the awful rain and storm to the night markets. This is the first time we have been in months, the amount of people here on a wet night was amazing this maker has grown so much! Finding a seat is really hard but the food is so great and the variety of origins is amazing! A great flavoursome night
The glenfield night market are great for a Sunday night dinner. With option to choose from almost every type of cuisine you’re bound to find something that suits everyone. It’s easy to get to and there’s lots of parking upstairs which makes it a lot easier. Being completely undercover makes it even better all year round. I highly recommend Mexikai, you won’t be disappointed.
I was expecting a bit more crafty stalls but I would only go back to try out all the different food stalls. It is just an interesting place to walk around and watch people! We tried Japanese, German, Korean and Spanish foods! All are very reasonably priced too. Definately a place to check out but dont expect to really shop - there are a few stalls with cheap imported made in China items but thats about it. I would like to see a bit more homemade crafts etc.
I heard such great things about this night market and had seen the signs each week and never been so one wet night we rugged up the kids and took a stroll. The smells were amazing, the different types of food were fantastic and the vibe was great. It was one fun night out with so many food options and not enough room to eat them all! There are amazing waffles and great Samoan food which is a favourate in my family, great wood fired pizza and kebabs, they really do have it all. well worth stopping by for dinner one night but make sure you are hungry!
I saw Glenfield food markets advertised locally so we thought we'd give it a whirl last weekend. And what an event it is! We were so impressed with the array of different world foods. From American cookies, Thai, Chinese, Indian and more... the wonderful smells only made you more and more eager to try something from the next stall. And with a live band playing in the background, this bustling little market, perfect for a family outing, is most certainly one of the best I've visited in Auckland in a long time.
