Gordonton Country Market is the epitome of country living and the yummy local produce associated with living life in the country. it’s a sweet place to snag a weeks worth of delicious fresh fruit and veggies (especially blurberries and apricots) for the week’s groceries. The prices are, as always, amazing.

    A day at the markets is a day well-spent. Go to sample, buy, chat, and just enjoy the community coming together. You'll find better produce here than at the supermarkets, that's for sure! They often have local musicians playing too which adds to the general outdoor ambience.

        Love visiting other markets when I'm travelling around the country. This is a cute one.

          What a great market! Set in park-like grounds with shade from huge established trees, you just wander the lawn from stall to stall with a great range of locally produced quality artisan products. My score of the day was a Whisky Orange Marmalade - amazing! Wife's was a raspberry vinaigrette .. and the kids got a new doll's dress each. But the range of crafts on sale was diverse, and the stall-holders were really friendly. We went down from Auckland, for something different to do and to get out of the city... and have to say I loved it. Well done Gordonton Country Market.
