Gracefield Early Childhood Centre is a community based Lower Hutt Childcare centre that is located in Waiwhetu. Our daycare offers a large open outdoor area and spacious indoors.

We are a diverse multi-cultural Lower Hut Daycare that aims to provide the highest quality care and education for children. We are licensed for 32 children, up to 10 under two year olds and 20 children over two years of age. We look after children from the age of 6 months to 5 years.

Our learning programme follows the principles and goals of Te Whariki (New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum). Speak to our friendly team for more information.

We have two children at Gracefield and they absolutely love it.  They have connected with each and every teacher there over the past 18 months on so many levels.  The childrens profiles are detailed, display their artwork, educational development and include numerous photos depicting their day-to-day activity. I highly recommend Gracefield, they are a special group of teachers and have supported our family as one of our children was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.  They take away the daily worry because they care and absolutely love our children. All I want is for my children to develop, grow and have fun at daycare and they certainly tick those boxes.

    Love this centre! Staff are amazing and our kids have developed so much since being there. Totally recommend this early childhood centre.

      Great little community-based centre. Plenty of space - in and out for the kids, and great teachers. My son has been there since he was 6 months old and he heads to school in 5 months.

        Both of my children attend/have attended GECC and we love everything about the centre.  The staff are amazing, happily accommodating the individual needs of each child.  Their outdoor play area is fantastic and the children love spending time out there at any opportunity.  I love that the centre caters it's learning programmes to the current interests of the children and encourages connection with the local community through regular outings (library story time and gym) and also one off general interest trips (recently to the Island Bay marine centre and the airport).  With cooked lunch provided and a family-like atmosphere what more could you ask for in a childcare centre.
