Value for money. Tasty food at down to earth prices. We love the Lemongrass chicken on rice. Decor isn't fancy but very clean.

Love this place. BYO. Cheap. And when I say cheap I mean it. Literally feeds two grown people for $10 each. But it’s amazing and so fresh.

Had a fantastic lunch yesterday at Halong in New Lynn. Went to look for cafe but nothing was open apart from food chain stores, so happy that the cafes were closed as I had heard great things about this place... the crispy pork and fresh spring rolls are divine. Amazing food at even better prices.

Had a lovely night out with friends, and got the rice noodle lemon chicken soup which was delicious on the day. Had the left overs for lunch, or thought I would, but there is something foul about storing this overnight. Definitely eat it all  on the day.

Would eat here again. Service was fast and the food was yummy. Decent portions.

Looking back I have been going to this joint for 7 years! Thats because it is honestly good; hey it's no cafe Hanoi on the inside but you put that aside when you are only paying $11 for a main.  The staff are friendly and you NEVER wait more than 10mins for your meals; the kitchen is a slick and fast operation and very consistent.  The Wonton soup will sooth any hangover.... Promise.

Halong is a good stop if you’re wanting something cheap, tasty, quick n easy! the spring rolls n money bags are always a fave for the entrees, n the lemongrass chicken on rice is one to try for the mains! they also do duck n roast pork on rice, I don’t usually see these dishes at other Vietnamese places! it’s byo n it can get quite busy for dinner so best to book for big groups!
