The Hokowhitu Lagoon is a conservation waterway maintained by Pamerston North City Council. The lagoon and surrounding park are popular recreational areas, with a carpark, picnic tables and toilets located onsite.

A favourite with kayakars, model boat owners and kids wanting to feed the ducks, a fishing licence must be obtained if you wish to fish in the lagoon.

Surrounded by many of Palmerston North's finest residential properties, Massey University's Hokowhitu Campus and Caccia Birch House, the Hokowhitu Lagoon Walk is a picturesque walkway along the water's edge.

One of Palmerston North's hidden gems, the lagoon is a great place to picnic or visit with the family and feed the ducks. It looks amazing at sunset and would be a great location for a romantic stroll just as the sun is going down. From what I hear it is also a popular engagement spot too!
