Humbug Cafe has become a firm favourite with West Auckland locals and it's not hard to see why.

There are two separate areas in the cafe - one a child-friendly space with vintage toys and comfortable couches, and the other a large dining area featuring retro furnishings and quirky wall art.

A changing menu features organic and fair-trade brunch classics-with-a-twist (the French toast with butterscotch is a highlight), as well as a heaving cabinet full of delicious options mean that there's plenty to try here. Great Millers coffee too.

Great Service

I love Sundays just cruising round cafes and I make an effort to stop here :)

This is a very very nice cafe conveniently placed right next to an adorable vintage shop, go there!

Cozy little cafe with super yummy food! It always has a great atmosphere and the coffee is perfect. Just sit back and relax while the kids entertain themselves in the play area.

I live close to this cafe but had no idea of it was there until a friend asked to meet there. It's got a great menu, yummy counter food, great coffee and service. I love the atmosphere and it's a chlld friendly cafe too. Kids even have their own room! This cafe is certainly some of the best of the west!

Very impressive. Walked into a full cafe. Immediately met by wait staff who could see hunger in our eyes. She provided menus and suggested we peruse while we waited for 10 minutes. 4 minutes later we were seated, and soon enough enjoying a delicious brunch with perfect coffee. The open kitchen made for good viewing of the very busy chefs. Busy yes, but not stressed. Supported by a well rostered and trained wait crew.

In recent times this cafe has become one of my favorites! Although priced on the higher side, the meals here are delicious, healthy and well presented. Breakfasts are especially yummy and you cannot ignore the quirky, eco-friendly vibe of the cafe. Love the interiors too!

Humbug in New Lynn are a little off the beaten track but definitely worth hunting out... I think this picture says all you need to know about why! I'm more of a savoury breakfast girl, but this french toast was amazing.

Awesome retro cafe with great coffee and food.

Recommended by a local, Humbug Café in Glenn Eden truly is a happy find. Tucked away down Rua Rd, it's a roomy, light-filled space with two seating areas - one with a large play area for kids, and comfy armchairs for parents to settle into while they watch on. Serving up a range of fresh-made counterfood and to-order fare (the French Toast with Berries, Banana and Crème fraîche ($14.50) is quite something), their fluffies ($1) are particularly cute and, of course, a hit with the kids
