A cocktail served up in a chocolate Easter egg? Could only be Hummingbird! Hummingbird Eatery & Bar is a Wellington icon. Recently refurbished, it's so stylish it hurts - no wonder it was the official bar of Wellington Fashion Week 2013.

Hummingbird is amazing!

The Chocolate Fondant at Hummingbird is worth making a special trip for. From a thin outer shell that almost defies physics pours forth a delicious chocolate lava. Paired with salted caramel and a goat’s cheese mousse it’s not so sickly sweet that you could almost have two…almost.

This place has been here forever, but has had a recent refurbishment which has turned it back into  one of the most happening places on Courtenay Place. The sister of Betty’s bar, Hummingbird’s  drinks menu is also designed by Jason Clark, but it’s very different from next door. Expect modern  twists on old classics, with incredibly complex flavours and totally adorable presentation. They also do  great and affordable tapas.
