Wow can they make a good pie and the butter chicken is particularly scrummy. The food is fresh and there is lots of it.

Well-known for creating some of the best baked goods in New Zealand, Jacksons Bakery is a sure-fire winner for a doughy, delicious hot cross bun. They don't bring their best buns out until just a few weeks before Easter so late March is the ideal time to visit Jeni and Neville and get munching on their delicious treats. I'm so hungry right now, I think I'll be making a stop on the way home.

A well-known face of Havelock North village for more than 20 years, Jacksons has been keeping judges busy at the Bakel’s New Zealand Supreme Pie Awards for 14 years - logging an impressive 13 golds, 4 silvers, 3 bronzes and 8 highly recommended awards for their various creations. Named Bakery of the Year twice - in 2007 and 2008 - I guess you could say they bake the best pies in NZ!
