I love Lake Mahinapua Scenic Reserve and the best place to explore it from is Lake Mahinapua Campsite. There are so many activities and fun times to be had exploring the lake as well as opportunities for picnicking, walking and water sports.

    A great spot for a picnic, Lake Mahinapua has a large grassy area and the lake is warm enough to swim in. There are many short walks in the area to catch the amazing view of the lake. It’s also very close to Hokitika in case your run out of sausages for the BBQ!

      Lake Mahinapua Camping Ground is a massive campsite which is perfect if you’re planning on staying a night or a month. Located next to the lake there’s loads of water activities as well as a boat ramp. A super friendly campsite where you’re bound to meet loads new friends.
