The Biggest Little Music store, ethical giftshop, and funky Back Room performance space to be found anywhere!

    Whenever I am down in Thames - which in a good month is every other weekend! - I have to pay a visit to Lotus Realm... It reminds me so much of my time living in Ibiza, Spain - so many 'hippie' & buddhist artefacts & memorabilia - plus, it is part of a great music shop and they share the same double-fronted shop space! Certainly a top spot at which to 'lose' yourself for a good hour or so.... A must-visit recommendation! :-)

      This wee little Buddhist store has an array of fascinating trinkets and gifts - from ukuleles to pashminas to jewellery - for the hippie in me. It's a little out of the way in Thames but always worth a stop if ever I am out that way, Think Trade Aid type stuff - made with total love!

        “Talking about the 70s… if you want a real blast from the past, you’ve got to check out Lotus Realm at 714 Pollen St. Run by the local Buddhists, it sells everything from Buddhist art to rugs. Close your eyes, inhale the incense and forget you’re in Thames. You might start channeling your inner San Francisco hippy – or even find yourself buying a ukulele, a shop speciality.”
