Grab a sambal curry for $14 - it’s healthyish and most importanly cheap/delicious. (if you don’t care about healthy too much, grab a roti to).

one of my absolute favourite Malaysian joints in Auckland (second only to Mulan) Mamak serves the best Roti Cannai in Auckland all for a price that wont hurt your wallet.

nom nom nom!!! This the best Malaysian restaurant I ever found in Auckland!

I’m pretty sure this is the best laksa I’ve had in Auckland. I’d heard so many good things about this place, and when we arrived on a Thursday night we had to wait for a table as the place was packed - always a good sign. Try the roti too, so good!

Best Malaysian in Auckland by a long way

Mamak is in a great location, perfect for a meal before heading out in Auckland City. The staff are very friendly and welcoming which makes the whole experience very enjoyable.

I was in the mood for some Malaysian Indian food so off to Mamak I went. Immediately I was drawn to the beef Murtabak which is a stuffed pancake or roti that had minced beef, onion and spices. it was accompanied by two types of curry and cabbage. It was definitely a solid meal, I was utterly stuffed and satisfied. It was well seasoned and I love my roti so there's nothing I can complain about for this meal.

Its' always great for me when I enter a Malaysian restaurant, it reminds me of home. The seafood curry noodles I had sent me back a lil more. The sweet and fragrant coconut milk enriched and mellowed out the spiciness of the curry but the necessary heat was still retained. I absolutely love the deep fried tofus that soak up the curry and when you bite into it the goodness spills out over your tastebuds. The portion was also quite substantial.

Mamak is the place to go to for good old Malaysian hawker style food. Be prepared to lose the money in your pocket too! Food portions are generous and the place is well decorated with different languages and ‘Malaysian talk’. Food is pretty authentic and worth a splurge every now and then. Try it if you’re looking for something different!

Delicious noodles, really friendly staff, keen to go back and try the rest of the menu!
