When Localist managers wanted to go somewhere special recently we picked Masu. The food was at the top end of superb. Crafted by Nic Watt with legendary attention to detail, every dish was an exquisite visual and culinary sensation. My pick was the Alaskan marinated black cod - a unique colour and texture well worth experiencing - and the spicy miso crayfish taco. Even the wasabi was noteworthy - smoothly handcrafted in Christchurch (no wonder). Oh and the sesame elderflower pannacotta with mandarin and milk sake sorbet. - sensational. Without doubt one of the best dining experiences in this city. A ‘memory meal’.
