Milk Crate is the place to for a good cuppa and a few minutes to yourself. This small cafe just off Cuba street boasts a piece of BMD art, iconic of Wellington, and is a trendy little space. With little seating it's a good idea to grab a takeaway before jumping on the bus to uni or forget uni, get your book out and have the morning off!!
Another of the Cuba St section that provides wifi, the bookstore has just disappeared which is sad, but something cool is on the way. Customer wifi is now available as well, with the big share table and generally quieter atmosphere, Milk Crate makes a good stop for those that like to relax in a good environment.
For your no frills excellent flat white served with excellence, look no further. Don’t expect anything crazy, but if your after a wonderful example of the simple espresso this is a place you should visit. With tasty treats baked daily and cold pressed juice from sister café earnest, you can’t really go wrong.
Situated on Ghuznee st, inside the same space as second hand bookstore, is Milk Crate. Delivering an array of delicious baguettes and sandwiches and tasty little treats. The coffee here is always to the highest grade, serving Peoples Coffee for all you ethical coffee consumers. A must visit if you live in wellington. See if you can get in for some of their Earnest Wellbeing juices as well, top notch freshly made juice, only available currently at Milk Crate
Milk Crate is just a really nice cafe. Excellent minimalistic decor, fantastic espresso machine coffee, tasty counter food and super lovely staff. Even better, Milk Crate is right next door to a lovely old vintage bookstore, making it a perfect spot for both sipping and browsing. I'd recommend a short black or a long black with some of their baked goods; very good indeed.
I don't normally eat much cake because it is so often dry and filled with disappointment but Milk Crate has scored themselves ex Logan Brown pastry chef Agnes Almeida and she knows exactly what she is doing - Sticky Date Layer Cake with Dulce de Leche or Chocolate and Raspberry Donut Cake! These are the cakes of dreams. The coffee is sensational also and it's combined with a book shop. I'm thinking about maybe just living there.
