Run by friendly couple Kevin and Mary, Ming Garden Chinese Restaurant has been one of Te Anu's most popular eating establishments for many years.
Locals line up for their delicious takeaway meals and you often see the place packed with Chinese tourists enjoying authentic dishes from their home country.
The huge buffets are ideal for the hungry traveller and regulars rave about the 'Yung Chow Fried Rice', 'Jan Jan Chicken', 'Venison with Black Bean Sauce' and the tasty spring rolls.
With generous portions and attentive staff, the restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Ming Garden do a great buffet, in fact, they specialise in buffets! The fried rice is the best in Southland and their dumplings are ridiculously good. I love the pork dumplings and the dipping sauce, and I bet you will too

    I do love a good buffet. Ming Garden specialises in buffets, however, never fear .. they do take out too! The fried rice is probably the best in Southland and they do dumpings! The pork dumplings with their very special (and secret) dipping sauce is the best.

      Great service, great food, great atmosphere! There isn't much not to love about Ming Garden. Their popular 8 course meal never goes amiss and is guaranteed to satisfy. The best Chinese food I have had by far!
