One of East Auckland's best kept secrets, Musick Point is a great place to walk the dog, take in the views of the harbour or go fishing off the rocks. This little reserve is virtually unknown to anyone that isn't a local, and is a great place to go for a change of scenery.

Only a half-hour drive from central Auckland, and with the views of Rangitoto and Browns Island making it well worth the making the drive, it's the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon with fish and chips on the reserve or a picnic by the ocean.

There's a stairway down to a little rock on the water at the tip of the Bucklands Beach Peninsula. It's a great spot with stunning harbour views and usually it's completely private and peaceful.

Out East near Bucklands Beach, Musick Point Reserve is a wonderful place to take the kids rock fishing. There’s lots of great rocky outcrops where you can bait up, set a line and cast out into the calm, clear waters. And if you are lucky enough to have a boat - there is one boat for every four people in Auckland, don’t you know - you can head across to Pakatoa Island where in summer the schools of fish are jumping.
