What a spectacular view and food cooked to perfection were here last weekend and what a treat! I was so surprised as its real fine dining. Lovely service lovely food just the combination of flavors was amazing I had the pork belly as an entree my partner had the calamari and I had the salmon as a main while my partner had the scallops… Everything was great and again a wonderful outlook
Good service which is expected from a big restaurant, but not familiar or charming as in smaller eateries. Shot but well-formed menu with a good variety of choices, with a good value option of $69 for three courses of your choice. Desserts are the most inspired items on the menu. Views are of course to die for, every seat is spectacular. Couldn't be a more perfect place to take overseas visitors.
Haven't been to Orbit for awhile so thought we would make the most of a few days off for Easter. Food was really nice, as usual, "Bubble Tea" dessert needs a bit of refining, looked & tasted clumsy next to my partners Jafa Fondant. Wine pours seemed to smaller than we experienced at other bars at Skycity. Service is usually better, was asked the same thing a few times, but wouldn't stop me returning.
I have now been to Orbit up the Skytower for high tea twice, both times with family visiting from overseas. both times I have been incredibly impressed with the food, choice and service offered (not to mention the view of course). THe price of the high tea includes free parking and the trip up the tower, which makes it so affordable, and the food is plentiful and delicious - little sandwishes, quiches, scones and cakes. Choice of tea or coffee and the staff never rush you. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone as a fabulous afternoon. Pity they only do it on the weekends!
Obviously the view is amazing, but the food is just as amazing. The staff were very attentive, and for such an amazing experience the price was not exorbitant. The worst I could say was that the waiter tried very hard to convince us to buy champagne as it was a birthday occasion (which at $95 for the cheapest bottle was a little shy of our poor student budgets) and it wasn't easy to get him to take no for an answer, but apart from that he was very polite and very informative about all the menu options. Would be a perfect touristy way to view Auckland.
