A really nice restaurant at the very highest place in town I have been many times but every time I have been left wondering if it was worth the price i paid, YES the service was good and YES the food was GREAT....But the protions are small and prices are VERY high so does that ballence out? Not sure but still you DO get an awesome view of the city and that CAN set the mood for later ***<:-)***
You don't come here for the views only, sure they are great and you have the best view in town, but the food is also something well worth experiencing. I've been lucky enough to eat here once and it was divine! In fact the wait staff were so good we decided to all swap places before out food arrived and he didnt miss a beat when putting our food down in the right places. Now THAT is service!
One of those must do experiences if you are in Auckland. Obviously the view is amazing and you get to see all 360 degrees of it as you spin around while dining. While the food is not super cheap, we think it's reasonable value since you don't have to pay to go up Sky Tower, as long as you spend the minimum amount.
Same applies to the restaurant as the tower. It probably would be pretty cool up there, reading a book or something taking in the views. But the price to get up there is ridiculous no offence on your national treasure but if I didn't go up the tower in Sydney, why would I do it in Auckland for $25? $25 dollars for a lift up a tower, it's polite day light robbery. The staff might as well be wearing a striped jumpers and a masks. Yet again, Long live Blackpool tower!
This place is really cool since it revolves as you are having your meal! Which is great as it helps take your mind away from the astronomically high prices of food from this place. I feel like I have to work a second job just to be able to dine at this place twice a year. I can't believe how expensive my steak was, almost three times the price of the steak in a steak house a few metres down the road. You must be higher than Orbit if you come to this place.
This is an experience to be had! Sitting all the way up the in the sky some 600 feet above the ground and enjoying a lovely glass of wine with exquisite delicious food, The food is prepared with the most care and presented beautifully, of course at a cost but once in a way its a luxury and it must be experienced. The desserts also are to die for !!
