I'm stoked that this classic Kiwi hot pools in Parakai has undergone a swish new makeover and now it's an adults-only geothermal resort where you can go to soak and heal. Open until 10pm every night, it's going to be one of the places for me to relax and get away from winter's chills.

We were very impressed, after not coming here for some 15+ years, we found the pools & shower areas to be very clean & not overcrowded. Both Colin & Maria were very friendly and helpful, particularly towards the end of the night. If you are looking for somewhere to have a peaceful & relaxing swim & aren't hung up on decor, then this is the place to go!!!

This place is great. We went in the evening and it was not crowded. The changing sheds were clean and nice. Okay, the overall decor of the place is a bit run down and old, but it is quaint and doesn't matter. The important things are the changing sheds and the pools and they were great. There is a pool that is really hot and a cooler one, a kids' pool and a lovely spa behind a screen. We had a lovely time and stayed for hours - much longer than we intended.

The revamp is awesome, can't wait till it is all finished! As a family we love this place :-)

Your new squeeze will think you're the biggest hipster once you show him or her this wonderful hidden gem. Hot thermal pools, fish and chips, booze and your new paramour in their togs - brilliant!

This is the best possible place to soak in Auckland. A bit of a drive but so affordable, so hot, so relaxing. You can get fish and chips and a beer there too. Best kept "secret" in Auckland but I think the word may be out judging by the influx of hipsters of late! Ah well, the more the merrier.
