A place to park and clean the campervan or motorhome before heading across the strait , due to the high parking charges in Wellington and the very high parking fines in the city .[Wellington gets about $30,000,000 in traffic fine money a year ].

A place like this to stop and sleep during the day is a little gem .With not too much pedestrian traffic during the day .

This particular location is not really a place to spend the night it is suggested you go further south in the same direction and head to Lyall Bay or Houghtons Bay . Suggest visiting the Maranui Surf Club for a coffee .
