Gulf harbour Whangaporoa , well its 12 kilomteres or so from state highway one .The spot for free over night parking is at the ferry landing . 

Toilets , no showers , top space for security , friendly security gaurds patrol .This space is run by Auckland City Council .

Best views of Auckland City , swimming , boating and freedom .

Possibly one of the best places to park and sleep in a [ssc] certified vehicle , mind you there are toilets available , no showers and non certified vehicles use this place as well .If in doubt phone Auckland City Council .
