I know that Freedom camping is a problem in Australia I have seen what is being done and entered long debate with the Council staff in the area of Camberwell Melbourne 3124 .The staff of our local agency our office address in Melbourne is in

Burke Road , Camberwell , Melbourne Victoria 3124 .

But I am begining to doubt wether there is a Freedom camping issue in New Zealand .After trying to debate , to contact or to findout from the organisations which are set up to deal with the Freedom camping issue , the results of letters telephone calls ,cold calling ,emailing  ,walk  in of the street the staff members of parking and sleeping encounted no further information .

1 a major government organisation could not afford a $27.00 adverisement due to buget restraints

2 a major tourist operator said they were to busy to talk and did not really have any knowledge of the fact that by attracting another 1 to 2,000 may be 3,000 plus tourists to New Zealand they had a responsibility to become involved in the solution .

3 an organisation set up to deal with camping in campervans completely ignored questions regarding young overseas tourists arriving in Ne Zealand and parking and doing their abloutions in the pristine environment that we as New Zealanders strive for .This organisation has a $275.00 fee for any information that they might have on the subject , mind you it is usable for one year then has to be renewed , young back packers , campervanners are not interested in forking out $275.00 for what should be free information , they would rather do a paragliding day out or a bungy jump . I do not blame them ,many New Zealanders do the same in Europe .

4 I was told by an information office set up to tell tourists how to park and sleep in New Zealand to join an international camping site with 1,500 camp sites in Europe and many in other parts of the world .

In fact none of the above were asked to spend any money at all , but their coversations ranged from no , no budget , no we have no information .Or why don't you , that is me the writer of this article just go out park over night some where and see what happens .

Parking and sleeping in New Zealand and Australia is fully paid for by the second hand book buyer who wants to solve this problem .This site even thought it is small and our web site attracts almost 100,000 plus page views and listing views annually in its first year .
