Stewart Island is accessible from Invercargill usually by boat [ferry] or aeroplane . Camper van travellers have to leave their vehicles in Invercargill or at a place called Bluff . Food and essentials can be double the price on the island so go well supplied . The camp grounds could have huts but are mainly for camping . All three parks are easily accessible by foot .
