Awesome French restaurant you can actually get into. They do not take booking (if less than 6ppl) so first come first serve in this small restaurant on the corner. Live French music on this Thurs night. Mains were around $30, and entree around $15 – $20. Desserts are also highly recommended – my poached pear & chocolate crepe was a happy surprise.  Bit noisy but okay.

One of my favourite restaurants.  Friendly, attentive and chatty service created a relaxed atmosphere, lovely decor.  Lots of choice on menu.  Creme brulee is the best I've ever had, anywhere.  Really reasonably priced for the quality of this place.  Look forward to going back soon :-)

I love this place because it's so genuinely...well..French! From the great value traditional French dishes like Cassoulet, to the good quality wine list, Kronenbourg 1664 on tap and the sometimes indifferent service (insert Gallic shrug here), it's like a little slice of France in downtown Auckland. It's also a great place for an after work beer that's a bit different from the standard pubs around here. They even used to have an accordion player on a Friday night (not sure if they still do).

Had anniversary dinner here and it is just wonderful. I loved dining in France and as it was inconvenient to fly there just for the night for a dinner, Pastis would serve remarkably well to bring the French dining experience here. The ambience is great. You'll feel like your're there and the food! ooh la la!! C'est trop bon!! Men, if your ladies like french cuisine, bring em here!

Pastis is a fantastic place to dine, located on the corner of Nelson and Victoria. It almost has that French/Parisian corner cafe feel, but their bright red signs definitely does not make Pastis like their French counterparts with their more subtle signs. Perhaps not like Paris, but maybe more like the vibrant south? Anyways, the people there are fantastic and super nice! And they're French! We were greeted by someone along the lines of a manager or owner, with a friendly, "Bonjour" We chose to sit outside for lunch, and it's a great place to people watch at noon. We decided to order the "Forestiere", a crepe with mushroom and chicken.  The dish came in a hearty serving size, over flowing with mushrooms. Although over all it was pleasant, it was rather luke-warm/cold when it came out. As for taste, it was somewhat bland. I've heard that Pastis is an amazing place with amazing food. I'm assuming our dish was their rare, once-in-a-while dish that didn't live up to expectations.  Even though our dish was a little bland, it was still tasty and it was an exercise to search for subtle flavors in the mushroom and sauce. I would definitely recommend!

The best I’ve had in Auckland and all for $9.50. Yum.

I love the food love the ambiance and would love to come here often but my bank account wouldnt like it too much. Really good food & romantic atmosphere!!
