Polhill Reserve is a recreational reserve located on the outskirts of Wellington. The gateway to the Brooklyn and Hawkins Hills, there are an increasing number of trails available suitable for walking and biking.

The most popular trail is the Polhill Reserve Loop which is a 5.6km walking track suitable for those with an average level of fitness. Taking approximately two hours to complete through open grassy sections, areas of regenerating native bush and past the Brooklyn wind turbine, there are magnificent views of the harbour and city to enjoy en-route.

There is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothing. The bush walks in Polhill reserve are all amazing, whether you go for 20 mins, or a whole day. Its a neat way to see the different little niches and communities within Wellington. You can walk right up to the Zealandia ridge fence, and definitely see some native birds.

A 2 hour walk around Aro Valley and Brooklyn, offering up mountain biking trails near Aro Valley and peel of loops for much shorter walks with exits in Highbury as well as the top of Holloway road. Great for those that like nature but are city bound most of the time.
