Poppies Hamilton is definitely my kind of bookshop. They have some great books you won't find in mainstream bookshops like Whitcoulls. And they also have a great kids selection - which has become particularly handy given so many friends of mine have young kids who are just getting into their storytelling years.

    There’s nothing like a good book. Surprise your Mum with a tasty cook book like ‘My Darling Lemon Thyme’ by Emma Galloway - only just released last month, this is sure to get her excited with new recipes to try out in the kitchen. Or if Mum’s not into cooking, find a good novel or autobiography from Poppies’ fascinating shelves!

      The owner, Liz, is such a lovely lady - very happy to give recommendations and tips for books that might suit. Her shop is laid out nicely and has heaps of treasures to find! Great mix of books, carefully selected. Spend the next rainy afternoon having a browse and a chat.
