I love heading to the pools in Feb, with my friends, to enter the Pt Erin Bomb Competition! There's some serious talent out there, so there's loads to see even if you don't enter. I recommend you do though, as there are some awesome prizes up for grabs.

    Outdoor pools sound appealing. Open to 8PM. Will update on how this goes.

      I am not much of a swimmer but I love the Point Erin Pools. It is set in a beautiful park at the edge of Herne Bay in a modernist building and seems very far away from the city even though it is ten minutes away. There is a competition pool for those serious about the sport of swimming but also a dive pool, playground and family spa for mucking about in and generally having a good time in the sun. 

        Yep, we have found only one thing wrong with the very cool Pt. Erin pools, and that us the fact that they are only open in summertime! It really is a great, spacious complex to spend an afternoon in once the weather warms up, with loads of different spots to take a dip and a great park for kids to play in and have picnics right at the entrance. You can also hire the place for birthdays and other celebratory affairs, and the cafes and bars of Ponsonby and Herne Bay are just minutes away.
