Raviz is a chain Indian restaurant and I’m going to admit it, usually I stay away from chains. There is something a little different about Raviz though, they have lunch time specials that are hard to resist. If you are looking for a cheap eat and are after something tasty for your money that’s bound to fill you up then head along Ponsonby Road to this little joint. You can’t go wrong with a good old hearty curry, naan and rice on a chilly spring day.

Cheap and cheerful, Raviz isn't going to set the world alight but it's good curry on a budget. Friendly, fast and tasty!

Excellent food, amazing service, reasonable rates. This is the best Raviz Restaurent amongst all the branches.

Went with a group of about 18-20 of us twice in the last couple of months, and was very impressed both times. The food was excellent, I had Malai Kofta and Chicken Jaipuri both of which were great. Service was good, especially for such a large table. Only issue I would have was the heat, we had to open extra windows and stand outside occasionaly as they were reluctant to turn any of the heating off or down. However, it could have just been because there were so many of us in that area there was nothing they could do regarding air con.We will be booking for another dinner again soon and look forward to it.

Came here to get takeaways one night, and I think it might be the best service I've had. Very friendly (and patient while I was umming and ahhing about what to get!). Looking forward to going back for some more delicious curry. mmmmm

Came here a while back with a large group for a friends birthday. We had entertainment book vouchers so knew we would get a good deal. The curries were very tasty, and because there was a slight delay due to another large group ordering at the same time, the manager gave us free desserts. Overall it was a good night!

Raviz in Ponsonby, is a typical Indian restaurant, with the usual ambience of low lighting and Indian artwork and furniture. Staff were friendly and the service was great when we sat down but we needed to ask for service when no waiting staff appeared for some time - however, we were compensated with a free round of drinks which was a gratefullly accepted acknowledgement of this oversight. The sauces were delicious, and we each shared a number of meaty dishes. The food was enjoyable and fairly standard Indiant fare, but it was tasty and staff were friendly - I'd definitely go again. I also noticed a cheap Tuesdays (but might need to check this) which makes a family night, a well priced option.

Being English I think I'm fairly qualified too offer my opinion on what a decent curry is - and the fact is, you cannot go wrong paying $10 for a main and rice. For the money you pay it is quality food and great value  I don't know what 1 or 2 of these other reviews are talking about in regards to the service. I found the staff extremely friendly, helpful and attentive (providing us with extra popadoms on request and not charging us was a nice touch as well)  My conclusion is that some of you need to get your head out of your arses and stop being so miserable, its a curry house not a 5 star establishment.   Long live Raviz and its $10 monday night!

Pro: Good offers, nice sauces Con: Nothing special, not sustainable The mains tasted OK. One of the mains was supposed to have dried fruits and nuts in it. I think it had 2 or 3 nuts on top - have had that much better before. Of the entree (vegetarian platter), everything tasted pretty much the same. They have plastic table cloths on top of the normal table cloth, which must produce so much avoidable waste. They sometimes have voucher options, lunch offers, and I think dinner offers on Monday and Tuesday, if you want to try it at a cheaper rate.

the indian at this place is fairly standard for NZ produced Indian which is good but never as good as the real thing. One very good thing though, is their sauces. They have created something very very good with their dipping sauces. Would eat again just for that.
